Ingredients

FOR THE ICE CREAM
3 cups low-fat cottage cheese
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
MIX-INS
1/3 cup fudgy brownie pieces (or a high protein brownie, chopped)
2 tbsp rainbow chips, color of choice

Method

NINJA CREAMI METHOD
2
Blend the cottage cheese, maple syrup, cocoa powder, protein powder, vanilla, and salt until completely smooth with no grain left.
3
Pour into a Ninja Creami pint and freeze flat for at least 24 hours.
4
Spin on the Lite Ice Cream setting. If it looks crumbly, add a splash of milk and run Re-Spin until creamy.
5
Make a well in the center, add the brownie pieces and rainbow chips, and run the Mix-In cycle.
NO-MACHINE METHOD
7
Blend the base the same way, then pour into a loaf pan and freeze.
8
Stir well every 30 to 45 minutes for 4 to 6 hours so it stays creamy, folding in the brownie pieces and rainbow chips during the last stir.

Questions People Ask

Can I make protein ice cream without a Ninja Creami?
Yes. Blend the base, freeze it in a loaf pan, and stir well every 30 to 45 minutes for 4 to 6 hours. Fold the mix-ins in during the last stir.
Why cottage cheese in protein ice cream?
Blended cottage cheese gives you a thick, creamy, high protein base without pudding mix or artificial thickeners. Once it is fully blended you cannot taste it, you just get the creaminess.

Storage

Keep frozen in the pint or loaf pan. For the creamiest scoop, let it sit on the counter 5 to 10 minutes before serving, or run a quick Re-Spin. Nutrition is an estimate from standard ingredients and shifts with your protein powder and brownie, so run it through a macro calculator with your exact products.
