Protein Peppermint Hot Cocoa

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup milk any milk works great here
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1-2 tbsp sweetener such as stevia, maple syrup, or honey
  • toppings of choice

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, heat the almond milk over medium heat. Be careful not to let it come to a boil. Once the milk is warm, whisk in the chocolate protein powder and unsweetened cocoa powder until they are fully dissolved.
  • Add the peppermint extract and sweetener, adjusting to your desired taste. Stir well to combine. Continue heating the mixture for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure it's well blended and heated through.
  • Once heated to your liking, carefully pour the hot cocoa into a mug. Top with whipped cream, crushed peppermint candies, or dark chocolate shavings for extra flavor and decoration. Serve hot!
