Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour (can sub for oat flour)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, cocoa powder, protein powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to combine evenly.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the applesauce, maple syrup or honey, melted coconut oil or butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until well combined. If using, fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean (a few crumbs sticking is perfect).
  • Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Slice into squares and enjoy your protein-packed ultra fudge brownies!
